Setting Up Norton Family on a Parent Device

To receive instant alerts and notifications about your child's activities, download and set up the Norton Family mobile app on your Android or iOS device. The app also allows you to modify family settings and more. If you share an Android device with your child, you can sign in to their device in Parent Mode to monitor activities and view alerts.

Installing Norton Family 

Choose one of the following options based on your device:

Installing Norton Family on Android

  1. Open the Play Store app and search for Norton Family Parental Control.
  2. Select the Norton Family Parental Control app and click Install.
  3. Once installed, open the app.
  4. Review the Terms of Service and other policies, then click Continue to begin setting up Norton Family.
  5. Select Parent Sign In.
If you do not have a Norton account, select Create an Account and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-up process.

Installing Norton Family on iOS

  1. Go to the App Store and search for the Norton Family Parental Control app.
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Open the app once installed.
  4. Click Allow to receive notifications from Norton Family.
  5. Review the License and Services Agreement and other policies, then click Continue.
  6. Sign in using your account credentials.

Adding a Child to Your Account

  1. On the Norton Family Setup screen, click Continue.
  2. In the Create Profile screen, enter your child's name.
    The name must not include special characters such as &, #, or $.
  3. Select the restriction level based on your child's age.
    Norton Family applies house rules based on the restriction level you choose.
  4. Click the camera icon to set a profile picture for your child.
  5. After completing the setup for the first child, you can add more children to your account.
  6. Click Create.

Setting Up Norton Family on the Parent Device

  1. Select iPhone or iPad, then click Next.
  2. Download the Norton Family iOS child app by scanning the QR code.
    You can also send a download link by entering an email address, then opening the link on the device where you want to install Norton Family.
  3. Enter the activation code in the Parent app and click Activate.
  4. On the child’s device, wait a few minutes, verify that the correct account email and child’s name are displayed, and click Confirm & Continue.
  5. Click Done.
