How does Norton Private Browser help protect my security and privacy?

Norton Private Browser comes with features and tools that are designed to maximize your online security, including Anti-Phishing, Anti-Tracking, and HTTPS Encryption. All built-in security and privacy features are available in the Security & Privacy Center.

Norton Private Browser helps block ads and hides your digital identity, which also helps keep your browsing running fast.

Download and install Norton Private Browser

You can download Norton Private Browser directly from the Norton website. To install Norton Private Browser on your device, do the following:

Windows

  1. Open your browser and visit the Norton Private Browser website.
  2. Click Windows to download the Norton Private Browser setup file.
    1. By default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder.
  3. Right-click the downloaded setup file norton_private_browser_setup.exe when the download finishes, and select Run as administrator from the context menu.
  4. If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes or Continue.
  5. Review the License Agreement and Privacy Policy, then click Accept and Install to proceed with default installation.
  6. Wait for the setup to complete, and then click OK.
Norton Private Browser is now installed on your computer, and a new browser window opens automatically.

Mac

  1. Open your browser and visit the Norton Private Browser website.
  2. Depending on the type of chip that your Mac has, click ARM/Silicon or Intel to download the Norton Private Browser setup file.

  3. Click Allow if you get an alert.
    1. By default, downloaded files are saved to your Downloads folder.
  4. Double-click the downloaded setup file NortonPrivateBrowserSetupARM.pkg or NortonPrivateBrowserSetup.pkg when the download finishes.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Click Install to proceed with the default installation location.
  7. If you want to change the default installation location, click Change Install Location.
  8. When prompted, type your Mac administrator account password and click Install Software.
  9. Wait for the setup to complete, and then click Close.
Norton Private Browser is now installed on your Mac. If prompted, you can delete the setup file from the Downloads folder to Trash.

Android

  1. On your Android device, launch the Google Play Store app and search for the Norton Private Browser app.
  2. From the search results, tap Norton Private Browser and then tap Install. Alternatively, you can visit the Norton Private Browser page on Google Play Store.
  3. When the installation finishes, tap Open.
  4. In the Norton Private Browser screen, read the User License Agreement and tap Set up.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up and get started with Norton Private Browser.

iOS

  1. On your iOS device, launch Apple App Store and search for the Norton Private Browser app.
  2. From the search results, next to Norton Private Browser, tap GET or the download  icon.
    1. Alternatively, you can visit the Norton Private Browser page on Apple App Store.
  3. When the installation finishes, tap Open.
  4. In the Norton Private Browser screen, read the User License Agreement and tap Set up.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up and get started with Norton Private Browser.
